What is Bamboo?

Bamboos are the fastest growing woody plants in the world: the growth rate can reach up to 1 meter per day. There are more than 1,000 species of bamboo and their growth also varies from species to species. There are 2 cm long plants as well as 40 meter long trees. Bamboo is grassy and therefore does not kill the plant, but promotes its growth. Unlike hardwood, bamboo continues to grow from the same stem; this means that replanting is not necessary and deforestation is avoided.

Bamboo is the latest vegetable fabric. It can be said that bamboo is a textile material of the 21st century. Bamboo leaves and kernels are used to make textiles. The main raw material is bamboo viscose, which is soft, breathable, moisture-repellent and quick-drying.
